‘Mobile identity’ refers to the mobile technologies, systems, devices and networks used to facilitate digital identity services – services which are often reliant on the ubiquitous coverage of cellular networks that have over 5 billion mobile subscribers worldwide in 2020. Recent analysis from Juniper Research estimates that growth in mobile digital identity solutions could exceed 800% over the next five years, as emerging economies turn to mobile by default.
